Just Need a Bit of Fresh Air

The Associated Press reports a passenger on United Flight 890 Tuesday night from Los Angeles to Washington Dulles tried to open the door of the aircraft and had to be restrained by other passengers and air marshals. Unlike some previous cases, after the passenger was subdued, the plane did continue on to Dulles. Airport police and the FBI met the plane to interview the passenger in question.

Another blog, Punditguy pondered how long before prescreening is required of all passengers allowed to sit in exit rows. Perhaps airlines should not preassign exit-row seats and hold them for the airport, where…if nothing else, a human being can assess more closely your fitness to be near the door.
