We’re slowly inching toward our goal of reaching 1000 posts. We hope you’ve been enjoying our increased efforts.

  • Air Canada yesterday inaugurated service from Montreal to Fort-de-France, Martinique. The service will be offered on Saturdays until August 29th, and then will recommence on a year-round basis on December 5th.
  • Alaska Airlines inaugurated service on Friday from Portland, Oregon to Maui. The thrice-weekly service will increase to daily on August 7th.
  • As of Thursday, JetBlue amended its DirecTV lineup, adding MSNBC, GolTV(Soccer), and Speed. And TV Land will be replaced by Setanta Sports from Saturday at 5AM to Monday at 5AM, and by 24-hr Tour De France coverage during the month of July. A complete lineup can be found here. We do wonder why TV Land is being replaced. Does no one watch it?
  • Volaris Airlines, a Mexican carrier, launched service from Toluca and Guadalajara to Los Angeles International Airport. This is the airline’s first international service since its inception three years ago.
  • Delta Air Lines will drop its service from Dubuque, Iowa to Minneapolis at the end of August. The flights, operated by Northwest, began last June. The loss will leave the airport with only American Eagle service to Chicago-O’Hare. Delta is also reducing service to Cedar Rapids as well.
  • Delta isn’t just dropping routes, Airline Route Updates reports they are also dropping:
    • Atlanta to Lincoln, Peoria, and Scranton
    • Cincinnati to Birmingham(replaced by Minneapolis to Birmingham), Dayton, and Houston
    • Salt Lake City to Arcata, Lincoln, and Cleveland
    • Memphis to Evansville, Toronto, and Washington-Dulles
    • Minneapolis to Lansing and Pasco
    • Washington National to Raleigh-Durham

More to come.
