Service Roundup – Tis the Season for New Service

  • Horizon Air announced new nonstop service from Los Angeles to Loreto, Mexico. The flights will be operated by a CRJ-700 and begin January 19th. The flights will supplement Alaska’s existing service on the route.
  • United Airlines inaugurated Los Angeles-Frankfurt on Saturday.
  • American Airlines had a lot of new routes beginning this week
    • Miami to:
      • Barranquilla, Colombia
      • Phoenix
      • Savannah
      • Sarasota/Bradenton
    • Ft. Lauderdale to:
      • Santo Domingo
      • San Jose, Costa Rica
    • New York
      • JFK to Orlando
      • Service from LaGuardia to Memphis began as well
      • JFK to Pittsburgh
    • Chicago -O’Hare
      • Eagle began nonstop service this past week from Chicago O’Hare to Gulfport-Biloxi.
      • Buenos Aires
    • It also began service between Milwaukee and Marquette, Michigan
    • and San Juan to Samana, Santo Domingo
  • Delta also inaugurated its own service from New York’s Kennedy airport to Panama City(on Thursday), Guatemala City(on Friday), Port of Spain(this coming Friday), San Jose, Costa Rica(on Feb. 15th), and Liberia(Feb. 16th).
  • Delta will be able to book travel nonstop from Los Angeles to London Heathrow as part of a joint venture between them and Air France. The flight, operated by Air France, will begin operating March 30th. Delta will also operate twice daily from New York, and once daily from Atlanta. Delta will continue to serve London Gatwick in 2008 from New York, Atlanta, and Cincinnati.
