  • Air Canada will be offering nonstop service from Ottawa to Frankfurt beginning June 1st as well as nonstop service from Toronto-Dusseldorf six times weekly beginning May 1st…and a second daily nonstop from Calgary-Frankfurt on April 14th.
  • American Eagle began nonstop service today from Flint’s Bishop International Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Service will be six days a week operated by 37-seat ERJ-135 regional jets.
  • Continental Airlines will relocate to Terminal A at Boston’s Logan Airport on Sunday. Continental will join Delta in that terminal and provide 23 daily departures to its hubs at Newark, Houston, and Cleveland.
  • Spirit announced nonstop service from Ft. Lauderdale to Panama City, Panama beginning January 31st, 2008. Service will be thrice weekly.
  • United Airlines announced new service from Denver to London Heathrowto begin March 30th, 2008. Service will be operated with a Boeing 777 aircraft configured with First Suite, Business, Economy, and Economy Plus seating.
  • US Airways intends to apply for permission to operate daily service from Charlotte to Bogota, Columbia.
  • Varig began operations yesterday on a route from Rio de Janiero – Sao Paulo – London.
  • On Friday, American Airlines launched flights from New York’s JFK Airport to London’s Stansted Airport. In April, they will add a second daily flight. Currently, several airlines have popularized all-business class service to Stansted…and American can not only increase service to London, but capitalize on the increasing popularity of another London airport.
  • Midwest Airlines will be discontinuing all service to Duluth as of December 1st, nine months after it started the service from Milwaukee. Passengers will be reaccomodated on Northwest Airlines flights. Duluth residents are concerned that the move will mean a return to higher fares in Duluth, due to decreased competition.
  • Allegiant Air will offer service from between Marion, Illinois and Las Vegas. Service will begin February 1st on Mondays and Fridays. Service will also begin between Huntington, West Virginia and Tampa with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning February 9th.
