British Airways Flight 001, service from London City to New York-JFK via Shannon(where passenger’s pre-clear US Immigration and Customs), which was operated using an all-business class A318, arrived 10 minutes ago into Kennedy Airport.

The service features 32 sleeper beds, a 15-minute check-in, London City’s proximity to key parts of the city, gourmet dining, etc. The service will operate twice daily:

  • BA001 departs LCY at 1250 and arrives JFK at 1715. BA002 departs JFK at 1830 and arrives at LCY at 0715 the following day.
  • Starting in mid-October, BA003 departs LCY at 1600 and arrives at JFK at 2025. BA004 departs JFK at 2150 and arrives at LCY at 1025 the following day.

The service will not be offered on Saturdays, due to restrictions at London City Airport.

We welcome the return of Speedbird One, a designation formerly used on Concorde. The name choice is indicative of the hopes they are pinning on this flight when business travel, a major chunk of BA’s business, is decreasing worldwide.
