  • American Eagle has added a weekly flight from Miami to Cozumel Mexico beginning yesterday. Service on the route, operated by ATR72 turboprops began March 2nd and demand is such that there will be a second flight on weekends.
  • Virgin Atlantic will be taking over the Jamaica to London route of Air Jamaica effective next October due to heavy losses. Virgin beat out British Airways to operate the route.
  • Friday also marked the beginning of service on US Airways from Philadelphia to Brussels, Belgium.

  • Northwest Airlines will resume nonstop service from Minneapolis/St Paul to Vancover, British Columbia. Service from October 15th through May 2nd will operate using Embraer 175-LR aircraft with 76-seats in a two-class configuration, operated by Northwest’s new subsidiary, Compass Airlines. Mainline service will operate through the peak summer season.
