  • Yesterday, Continental, American and Delta raised fares systemwise in the continental US by $5 each way. Northwest matched…although United and US Airways did not. Continental, which initiated the increase, said it was due to fuel increases. Airlines has warned of sluggish revenue and bookings for the summer.
  • Frontier launched once daily service between Denver and Vancouver today. Frontier became the first US low-cost carrier to serve Canada when it began serving Calgary last May.
  • Gary Airport may sue Skyvalue. Skyvalue is shutting its service down, even after Gary Airport floated them a $325,000 loan. They loaned it to Skyvalue’s CEO without being told the company had a $3.8 million debt. All service ceased today, and it leaves Gary without commercial service.
  • British Airways is looking for an “Air Rage Investigator” to join their “Asset Protection Group” to “thoroughly investigate incidents of disruptive passenger behaviour, gather relevant evidence and produce written reports.” The pilots blame increasing incidents on security guidelines that require passengers to show up early, but leave them with time on their hands to drink before boarding.
