Expressjet Launches Service under own brand

By | April 2, 2007

Expressjet launched its new service operated under its own name, as opposed to operating for a larger carrier today with the launch of service from Kansas City, Omaha(Eppley Airfield), Austin, Boise, LA/Ontario, Spokane, and Tucson. Further service will commence over the coming weeks/months. As part of its rollout, the company is offering nonstop service in 24 markets.

Expressjet has also announced details of their new frequent flyer program, Jetset, which rewards based on how often people fly, not how far. Passengers will earn one roundtrip ticket to any destination they serve for every eight roundtrips or sixteen one-ways within a 24-month period.

ExpressJet operates a fleet of Embraer Regional Jet 145 aircraft, recently upgraded with XM Satellite Radio, name-brand snacks, full-meal service options on long flights, and memory-foam leather seating. Certainly sounds better than the ERJ145s we’ve been on. The planes are hardly luxurious, but it is nice to know Expressjet is making the effort.

As we do not foresee getting a chance to fly on this new service during its inaugural season, we invite anyone to contact us if they wish to write a review. We will be searching the internet to see what people are saying.
