  • Jetblue announced service from Boston to Charlotte and Washington-Dulles to Orlando beginning May 1st. The Boston flight will be once daily, the Dulles flight twice daily. It will also add once additional flight from Long Beach to Las Vegas, JFK to Portland ME, JFK to Charlotte, and JFK to Raleigh-Durham.
  • Jetblue also announced increases in international service. It will return to Santo Domino, Dominican Republic, a route it served from 2004-2005, with twice daily service beginning May 24th. It will also inaugurate service from Boston to Bermuda(May 1st and Orlando to Ponce, Puerto Rico(May 24th). Jetblue will also increase frequencies for the peak summer season on its routes from JFK to Santiago Dominican Republic and Aruba, and between Orlando and San Juan.
  • Air Canada announced it will introduce daily nonstop service between Vancover and Sydney, Australia on December 14th. It will thus be the only airline offering nonstop service from Canada to Australia. This coincides with its announcement that it will be operating its first new Boeing 777 on key routes serving Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific. The first of eight new 777s is set to be delivered in April. It will shave more than three hours off the current one-stop flight via Honolulu.
  • Airtran has announced an expansion of its service from Baltimore-Washington Airport with new nonstop flights to Seattle, Washington(effective May 24th) added to its previous Portland, Maine announcement. It will also resume seasonal service to Milwaukee(effective May 8th) and Dallas(April 17th). It will also add additional flights to its service to Charlotte.
  • Midwest announced it would be adding a second nonstop between Milwaukee and Los Angeles(July 1st) and a seasonal second flight from Milwaukee to Tampa(May 1st)
