Laptop Travel Gear

Today we introduce the first of our travel gear recommendations. Look for an extended review and other reviews on our website in the near future. The Lapinator is a portable insulated laptop desk that prevents the heat of the laptop from hurting your legs. A hot laptop can run for hours on this and not heat up the surface below it. The manufacturers also suggest it will keep your laptop cooler, through the two bumpers provided, which will raise the back of the laptop subtly so that any vent fans on the bottom will have more airflow.

There certainly are a myriad of cooler and laptop desk products. But few are as simplistic as this one in keeping your lap cool. Our editor also used his as a tray table when seated in the front row of a Southwest plane, where there are none. It was very useful for the cheese and cracker service, and to place a portable DVD player on for optimal viewing(of course, any boardlike object would serve that particular function.

But this is what we use for our laptops. And it has survived through many trips both on the ground and in the air. Just one bit of advice. The included bumpers attach to the lapinator, not to your laptop. They are shipped separately so you can customize their placement for your laptop size.
