Today is the fifth anniversary of 2003 Blackout, the worst in U.S. history.

  • JetBlue will be adding daily nonstop service from Washington-Dulles to Tampa on December 18th and Saturday service to Cancun on December 20th.
  • JetBlue will be launching twice daily service using its 100-seat Embraer 190s on October 18th between Long Beach and San Francisco. A third flight will be added on November 2nd.
  • British Airways, American, and Iberia have signed an agreement for a transatlantic tie-up, and will be filing for anti-trust immunity in the United States. As airlines shrink, this will become more and more the norm. More on this as details become available.
  • Continental announced it will launch daily nonstop flights between Newark and Shanghai beginning March 25th. The flight will continue on from New York to Cleveland.
