Problems with the US Airways Computer Transition

By | March 4, 2007

The Arizona Republic reports that the hope that the US Airways reservations system transfer would be seamless were dashed this morning. Due to the failure of self check-in kiosks, there were long lines in Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Las Vegas.

The Charlotte Observer reported that conditions at Charlotte Airport were improved by the afternoon, but lines could still be up to two hours as malfunctioning kiosks forced passengers to be checked in the old-fashioned way, at the counter. For now, the online check-in function at their website is working.  They are also waiving fees for passengers who want to change from today or tomorrow to a later date.

US Airways will be unable to sell United code share flights online until March 17, due to the computer transition.
