British Airways Strikewatch

By | January 25, 2007

British Airways will be canceling all of its flights from London Heathrow airport on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week due to a strike by cabin crew. The Transport and General Workers Union has set walkouts for January 30-31st; February 5-7, and February 12-14.

While Willie Walsh, head of British Airways, insists their door remains open day and night for negotiations, the airline has canceled these 1,300 flights next week to give passengers time to make alternate arrangements. The cancellations will affect over 140,000 passengers.

British Midlands(BMI) has announced it has in place contingency plans to assist passengers caught in the disruption, by increasing aircraft sizes on several routes, and adding additional flights.
