New Regulations Require Passports for US Entry

By | January 19, 2007

As USAToday reminded us, new government regulations will take effect this week, requiring all individuals, including US citizens, to have a passport in order to enter the United States. Previously, a birth certificate or driver’s license was acceptable. Next year, passports will also be required at land and sea crossings, although for regular travellers of this type, a less expensive passport card will be offered.

While tourism organizations are concerned…it is fairly simple. To enter the United States…you now need a passport, no matter where you are coming from or how you are coming. Maybe it is time to renew our passports.
